It is an exclting time for Gallon Historical Art. The latest piece was recently released, featuring General Robert E. Lee. You can view this masterpiece here.
"The Civil War was one of our nation's most primal experiences" Dale Gallon says. "It was like the Revolutionary War, only moreso. Where the Revolutionary War had pitted us against them, had brought us together-this war tore us apart. In the process, it defined us. Both the good and the bad. I don't believe you can have a clear picture today without first looking at the Civil War."
This power of conflict is what Dale Gallon has pursued in his masterful portfolio of paintings and limited edition prints. The meticulously researched historical art of Dale Gallon has driven the Civil War Art market for over 28 years. Each of Dale's paintings is a historical lesson on canvas.
Dale released his first limited edition Civil War print in 1980. Though originally from California, his love of the battle of Gettysburg drew him, his wife Anne, and their three sons to the East Coast in 1984. After moving to Gettysburg, Dale remarked, "I live within a mile of where General Robert E. Lee led the Army of Northern Virginia into the battle of Gettysburg. This battlefield is my office. I don't need much inspiration. I suspect people who collect my paintings feel that on the canvas."
Dale has produced over 200 images. His works are highly sought after worldwide and are currently displayed in places such as The Pentagon, the US Army War College in Carlisle PA, and more. President George Bush even owns "A Gallon".
The slogan reads "Own a Piece of Our Nation's History…Own a Gallon". This statement certainly rings true as Dale continues to release an exciting new work every three months that continues his long-standing tradition of showing the Civil War in vivid detail to his many fans across the world.
